Linking to Care (LTC): A study to identify the coverage, timeline, and impact of access to continued care in HIV-infected women enrolled in prevention of mother-to child transmission (PMTCT) program and their families.
About the research:
PRAYAS health group initiated a new research study to identify the coverage, timeline, and determinants of access to continued care in HIV-infected women enrolled in prevention of mother-to child transmission (PMTCT) program in India and their families. The study will investigate the association between socio-demographic, health related, and family related factors with access to continued HIV-related care.
  
Research questions:
1. Assessing the coverage, timing and barriers of access to care in HIV-infected women who have previously accessed PMTCT services.
a. What is the coverage of continued care and treatment on HIV-infected women who have previously accessed PMTCT services?
b. What is the timeline for linkage to continued care for HIV-infected women and compare it to that of their partners?
c. What are the potential barriers to accessing post-PMTCT care in HIV infected women?   
2. What are the determinants of current health status of the HIV-infected women and their families?
a. What are the various determinants of current health status of HIV-infected women who have previously accessed PMTCT services?
b. What are the various determinants of current health status of the children of HIV-infected women?
c. What are the growth patterns of children born to HIV-infected mothers?
d. What are the various determinants of current health status of partners of HIV-infected women?
Study setting: The Prayas PMTCT program.
Study participant: All women who have received services under the PRAYAS PMTCT project.
Type of research: A panel study of all consenting HIV-infected women who had previously been enrolled in the Prayas PMTCT program.
